Gestalt Therapy & EMDR
in Oxford and Online

THE GUEST HOUSE
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
Jelaluddin Rumi
I offer Gestalt psychotherapy and EMDR therapy in Oxford and online, supporting you to explore your emotional experience, relationship patterns, and inner life in a way that allows for meaningful and lasting change.
Therapy offers more than a space to talk about your experiences, it is a place to meet them directly, with awareness, curiosity, and honesty. This is a collaborative and active process. We don’t only talk about your experiences, we work with them as they emerge, in real time. What happens between us can help us understand patterns in a more immediate way. I bring my presence, experience, and attention, and I invite you to bring curiosity, honesty, and a willingness to engage in your own process.
RELATIONAL APPROACH
As well as exploring your experiences outside of therapy, we also pay attention to what happens between us.
The ways you relate, respond, and experience others often become visible in the present moment, including within the therapeutic relationship. This allows us to explore patterns as they are happening, not only in retrospect.
Change does not come only from insight or understanding. It develops through experience, through new ways of being in relationship, and through what emerges in contact between us.
Each session is shaped not only by your history, but also by what we bring into the space together, your experience, my presence, and the dynamic that unfolds between us.
WHO THIS IS FOR
This work is particularly suited to people who:
-
want more than insight and are willing to engage actively in their process
-
are open to both support and challenge
-
are willing to look at their own contribution to life's difficulties
-
value depth, consistency, and commitment in therapy
HOW THIS WORK IS DIFFERENT
Rather than focusing only on understanding, we work with your experience as it happens.
This may include:
-
noticing emotional responses in real time
-
exploring patterns in relationships
-
bringing awareness to bodily experience
-
attending to what happens between us in the session
Allowing change to develop through awareness, contact, and lived experience.

STRUCTURE & COMMITMENT
Therapy and supervision are most effective when there is consistency, commitment, and shared responsibility. Sessions are typically held at a regular time, allowing the work to develop with continuity and depth.
I work within a clear and supportive framework, including agreed session frequency, boundaries, and practical arrangements. This structure helps create a space where the work can feel contained, focused, and reliable.
This work is most valuable when approached as an ongoing process rather than something occasional or open-ended. I work best with people who are ready to actively engage in therapy or supervision as an ongoing, collaborative process. If this approach resonates with you, you’re welcome to get in touch.
